About Me

My name is Sarah. I grew up in the United States – though my mother’s side of the family grew up here – and moved to Belfast in 2018.

I worked many jobs, including retail, childcare (education, day camps), In Home Support Services, a PetsHotel, Health and Safety coordination, among other things.

Volunteerism is also important to me and I served a term in AmeriCorps, while locally I have volunteered at Housing Rights, the Red Cross in a COVID Vaccination Centre, amongst a few others and am more recently hoping to get involved volunteering with Dogs Trust.

I grew up with two dogs, golden retrievers by the name of Bruno and Honey, and assisted my aunt with her dogs on occasion, Labradors by the name of Kiera and Orla.

In 2021 during a time I was waiting on a house offer to be accepted, I ended up bringing home Jake, who struggled with fear-related reactivity issues, which brought me back around to working with pets, especially dogs, and advocating for regulation. He’s been a source of joy in my life and has taught me so much, which is why when I decided I needed to make a change I decided I would get involved with dog care.
